hello everyone, I think this might be one of the last post I will post on Shammah Blog. No more updates because our group is ending soon. So this is my last post for everyone of us in the group.

It's been a great year for all of us at the group, it's also been a great year for me especially since it's the first time I need to lead a group of people for 1 whole year. I remember the first time we started our group, we were small, in fact one of the smallest group in PYP. But by God's grace, we manage to pull through together as a whole group. Yes, there may be blood, sweat and tears throughout our journey as a whole group. But one thing for sure, I really thankful that God place each and everyone of us in this same group. Like what Jason ( our mentor) told me when I was under him, each of us can only be in the same group once in the lifetime.

I hope each and everyone of us manage to learn something throughout this whole year. hahaha....... no need to be to emo or sad about the whole group ending. Come on, we might not be in the same group, but hey, we're still in the same church rite. so, we can still meet with each other and still chat and still fren ma. I will post some photos of what we did the whole year. dont worry.

so, this sat group meeting is our last group meeting, remember to come ya. Next week is already our awards nitez. So see ya.

We are the CHAMPIONS OF SONGFEST 2009. First of all, I as Commander of Group Shammah is totally humbled by each and everyone of us in the group. Without your tremendous effort in the singing, there would be no group Shammah and most importantly, you guys make it possible for us to be able to be Champions of Songfest. I want to dedicate this post to the whole group of Shammah for this victory. Like I always say, not one less. Everybody in the group is very important. This shows our group have team and group spirit.

Want to thank Irene hor, Ee May and also Samantha for choosing the songs and conducting the practice. Thanks also to the guy singers, Wayne Liew, CJ, Jim, Ka Fei, Linus Liew, Bernard, Tiong Shen and James Lian . ( you guys were awesome). Our girl singers, Pei Tze, Clarrise, Kimberly, Samantha, Sue Lynn, Belinda, Ee May, Bee Wan, Wing, Lee Choo and Irene Hor. Not forgetting our musicians, Michael Loo, Jason Boi, Renny and also Dillon Wong. Without them, we wont have good music to go with the great singing.

Songfest 2009 was really good. We had massive support from our frens from Kepong. Really cool and awesome. But most of all, I hope that each and everyone of us will treasure this time we had in this songfest 7 and most importantly, all of us and the audience and judge will be bless by our music. Like what one of our guest judge, Mr Benji Llorente say, Our church are bless with these musical talents. I hope that we can through music bless others too.

That's all for now, let us savor the fruits of our labour.

Hello everybody, it's been sometime since the I posted something in the Shammah blog. How is everybody in the group? I hope each and everyone of us is ok. ( Hopefully commander also oklar)

Today I would like to share with each and everyone of us in group Shammah about Joy. That is why i choose the picture that says "The Joy of the Lord is My Strength. Big word rite. let me explain to you what it means by this short verse.

Joy................. people might say, "Joy only mah, go supermarket buy Joy Brand juice and drink, sure got joylar". Or some people might say, "got this might joylor, dun have then no joylor, become kill joylar". This is what the world tell u about joy.

But in the bible, Joy from God is strength. STRENGTH. As this years theme is, " I can do all things through all who gives me strength". This strength comes from God and what comes together with this is the JOY from God. Surprising rite.

I know that some of us are discouraged and tired from our activities with church and work. Heck, I also feel the same thinglar. That's why we feel no joy, like "so dryleh", "feel like goin to kering liao like ham chou", "tiredleh and so on", " I fell like the ham yu in the ham yu fa lam bou" This are the problems that we face as a christian that takes the Joy out of us.

But I want to draw ur attention to Habakkuk 3:17 states "though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls"

if u read the verse, u see the fellow has so much prob. but in verse 18, it says "YET I will rejoice in the LORD, I will take joy in the God of my salvation"

walau, this fella can still rejoice ar? If it was me, I sure cry liao. Sure he can, because in verse 19 it says God, the LORD is my strength ;he males my feet like the deer's , he makes me tread on my high places.

What makes this prophet say is this : NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, YOU CAN REJOICE IN IT. Because God is here.

I know that we are approaching the end of the group, and I just wanna share this short thing that we can rejoice in whatever circumstances. I hope that this can encourage each and everyone of us.

About Soup Kitchen:
Soup Kitchen is a restaurant open to everyone but with the objective to provide daily free lunches for the urban poor and homeless in the city. Regular office workers and businessmen are invited as well, so as to remove the stigma from the poor and needy and give them the dignity to feel that it is not just a feed the poor handout program. We want them to know that we care and they are accepted by the community at large. There are currently two Soup Kitchens, one in Alor Star and another in Jinjang, Kuala Lumpur. Collectively we feed about 370 people a day. We also provide job opportunities for the mentally challenged to work as kitchen helpers and waiters/waitresses.

Ok. Here are the things that we are going to do this saturday. ( the physical really powerlar I tell you)

Physical Challenge

1. each group to send out 5-10 people.

2. each group needs to complete collectively 30 sets.

3. each set consists of

- right hand up punch x 10 (with 5 kg weight)

- left hand up punch x 10 (with 5 kg weight)

- right hand front swing x 10 (with 5 kg weight)

- left hand front swing x 10 (with 5 kg weight)

- 20 burpees.

4. while one person is doing the set, everyone else must be running in a circle.

5. the above must be done continuously without break or stop. if you stop more than 5 seconds, the set doesn't count and have to start from 0 again

6. sets are to be done one by one

7. first group to complete all 30 sets or group with the highest amount of sets completed by end of 1 hour wins.

Skill Challenge

1. each group will be given a block of plasticine and a pail of water.

2. groups have to come up with a design that can float

3. then the floatation device will be tested to see how many glass beads it can hold before it sinks.

4. groups can keep trying and redesigning as long as there is time.

5. each design that groups test will count as their score. if they come up with a better design that holds more glass beads, that is their new score.

Knowledge Challenge

1. groups will be required to answer questions that are flashed on the screen

2. each group will be given paper and pen/pencil to write their anwers

3. after flashing the questions and when the question has been read. the quizmaster will say "GO" and all groups have 10 seconds to come up and present their answers

4. if you get the answer correct, you will be given the opportunity to roll a dice. the results will either give you more points, have no effect or on a small chance minus points.

5. those who get the answers wrong must roll dice on a different chart. the results will either minus points, or have no effect. some minus points result allow you to do something instead of minusing your marks.

6. group with the highest score are the end of the day wins.

Hello everyone, If your listening to this, you are Shammah. We're back from camp!!!!!!!!!!! This time it's different. Different until we came back at nightlar. But the whole camp was a BLAST. Blast as in BI BA BOOM!!!!!!!!! I know everyone has been waiting for this post, so here it is.

I tell ulah, the whole camp ar. It was nothing but action n fun n also spiritual. We learn lots of things, especially PDL. * it is not pastor David Lian FYI, but it is Personal Devotion Life. I hope that everyone of us really do our PDL daily so we can walk close with God.

Besides that, one of the most memorable thing that happen in the camp is the River Rafting. I tell u the truth, you won't find so much drama in a group that our group. Each boats have it's own story to tell. We have wood planks goin missing, burst tayars, members falling into the river n also members hitting the trees while rafting. If this was a action movie in hollywood, I think we would all be millionaires. But too bad............... hahaha

The ignite game really builds teamwork and coordination. It was not about which boat having the most boys but it's all about the heart and teamwork. ( Ask Linus and see what I mean).

I will post more photos and write up on this unbelievable and syiokalingam camp.

this is a song from one of my favourite bands called Incubus. It says "Are You In?" Well, I tell you something. I'm in. Are you? Camp is in around 3 more days. Boy, I can't wait to go for camp. Now we have 31 people for camp. 什么? 31 person. 开玩笑? Nope, tis is not a joke. but it is the truth. We're having 31 people for camp and more to come. ( hopefully)

It is never to late to ask your friends to come for camp. If got extra people coming, please inform Jonathan Hing ( tat's me) or Irene Hor so we can arrange for transport and so on.

Finally,Petra Youth Production MTV is passed.Thanks God for everything that he had given to us and guided us.Of course, the most surprising thing is that Group Shammah won the MTV. Thank God. Although we won the MTV ,but we have to keep it up. Do better than this and continue to grow in God =) Can we do it? Shammah!Yes,we can do it =)

Hello everyone, this saturday we are going fishing at a pond in Tmn Cahaya. For those that dunno what is fishing, havent heard of it, or think that fish come from Supermarket only. Here is the chance for you to go and catch some yourselves. ( Warning: now fishes are kinda smart, so u must be smarter in order to catch them)

what to bring?
1. Mosquito repellant ( If you all have any, coz there will be plenty of mosquito waiting for us)
2. Fishing rod ( if you all have any, bring your own, for those that dun have, there will be rod provided, Bamboo fishing rod)
3. Fish hook and so on.
4. If got big net, then bringlar.
5. bring urself.
6. If you wanna bring ur own bait to fish our friends, can also.
7. Extra clothes ( precaution if u all fall into the pond,butlar, the pond very shallow 1, won't drown u)

most importantly, bring ur frens to enjoy tis saturday.

hello everyone, it's Shammah group update. Sorry for the late updates ( i been busy with alot of things going on, running around like those crazy fellas you watch on movies). Anyway, back to the good things first. In April, our group had a "lat lat" potluck at Linus house. WOW, the food were so hot until I went home n had a great time in the toilet.

hmm, what can I say? oh yes, before i explain more in detail. I just wanna say everybody was required to bring a dish ( there were some that pandai and dun want bring). We will start with our mentor aka " sek san" aka the "girl version of choi lan" Ee May. She brought fried nuggets, according to her, it's pepper flavour. Next up was pei tze, she brough curry chicken. Ah wing brought friend maggi goreng mamak style, me on the other hand bring chocolate cake for dessert ( you can't have spicy dessert right) , James brought ayam masak merah, Linus with his Sa Wa Dee Kap face brought thai bee hoon, Carol with more curry chicken, Annie brought sausages n black pepper sauce deep, Irene brought some jiao zhi ( she went and buy ready made 1, haih) and Kar Fai supply us with hot tea to ease the hotness. And there are some of those that din bring any food ( u noe urselflar)

actually, most of the food is being cooked by the mums of respective ppl. we must thank them for cooking for us. ( My mum bake the cake, If I bake the cake, it will be "stone cake" special)

tat's all for the post. We had a great time in linus hse playing taboo also. the next day, I do not know about u all, but i had a great time in the toilet.

Camp is near, we need to bring in more frens. tell them about the river game. p/s BELIEVE ME, IT'S THAT GOOD.

Hello everyone, futsal at The Challenger @ Tmn Connaught was a blast. We had 3 teams on that day, Team Ubi Keledek ( Fan Shu) lead by Tiong Shen, Team meh meh lead by Ah Weng and Team Boleh lead none other than Kar Fai. But the overall winner was Team Fan Shu. Team Boleh and team meh meh is boleh meh meh. But we had a great time together, especially the girls, they havent play futsal in a futsal court beforelar, so this is a great experience for everyone. most importantly, everybody gets to play on that day. If you didn't come, u really miss the chance to see Ee May score a goal. ( Petra Amp girls, you should come and learn the art of scoring from Ee May, XD)

Anyway, there will be tons of activities that we're going to do as a group. Stay tune for more updates and also remember to bring your friends for our youth camp....

Training by the riverside ( but not in itlar)

If watch any TVB drama or movies like Eargorn, Narnia, The Lord Of The Rings and countless war movies and hero movies. You will notice something that is similiar in the movie ( Nope, it's not the part where the heroine comes in and ask for help). It's the part where the hero or heroine or army goes for TRAINING............... Yup, that's the most interesting part of the whole thing where the once normal person get to train with a grandmaster in KungFu or swordmastery. He goes from a ordinary person into a hero after the training with the Sifu in the story. If you play computer games like Warcraft 3 and other strategy gamess that I dunno nowlar, you see that you will need to train your soldiers b4 goin into battle, or else, it's GG for you.

Therefore, come for this year camp transformation. We have loads of activities for you to train to become God's warrior. Remember, it's June 5 till June 9 2009. Come and listen to the Sifu's in the camp and become a great warrior for christ.
